Terms of Service
Last updated: June 17, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and DeskDump ("DeskDump," "we," "us") and govern your use of DeskDump(the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Your account
You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe others' rights using the Service.
- Upload malware, attempt to breach security, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or abuse the Service in ways that harm us or other users.
- Store content you do not have the right to store, or use the Service to send spam.
3. Your content
You retain all ownership of the content you put into the Service. You grant us only the limited rights needed to host, process, back up, and display that content so we can operate the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of your data and we do not use it to train AI models.
4. Plans, billing, and trials
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Usage-based charges (such as additional team members or storage beyond what your plan includes) are billed according to the pricing shown at sign-up and on our pricing page. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals, and access continues until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
5. Cancellation and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk or legal exposure. We will make reasonable efforts to give you notice where appropriate.
6. Privacy and security
Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you choose to store, including any secrets you save to the vault. Vault secrets are always encrypted before they are stored, and no service can guarantee absolute security.
7. End-to-end encryption and your recovery key
You may turn on end-to-end encryption for your vault. When you do, your secrets are encrypted in your browser using a key derived from a vault passphrase that you choose. We never receive your passphrase, your recovery key, or the encryption keys, and we cannot read, reset, or recover end-to-end encrypted content for you.
You are solely responsible for remembering your vault passphrase and for safely storing the recovery key shown to you when you enable encryption. If you lose both your passphrase and your recovery key, your encrypted content is permanently unrecoverable by anyone, including us, and we are not liable for the resulting loss of data.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and DeskDump is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
